Julio Ramundo is a 48 year-old economist with a long-standing career with the BNDES, which he joined after a national public exam. He has served the Bank in a wide array of executive positions in different divisions over the last years, including Executive Director for the BNDESPAR. As the present Deputy Managing Director for the Basic Industries he oversees BNDES’s loan portfolio and new lending to Oil&Gas, Mining, Steel, Pulp and Paper, Chemical, Automotive and Capital Goods sectors. He is a current member of both BNDES’s Credit Committee and Managing Committee. He has also acted as the Bank’s representative in various Government Bodies in the areas of IT policies, innovation, industrial policy etc. A former Chairman of the Board of the BNDES Employees’ Pension Fund (FAPES), he also served as a member of the Board of Telemar Norte Leste S/A (Oi Telecom), Fibria, Petrobras, and BR Distribuidora. He holds a Bachelor Degree in Economics from UFRJ (1992) and an MBA with distinction from the London Business School, University of London (2001).
